Diane Rich is co author of the series What Matters to Children, published by Rich Learning Opportunities
The first in the series was published in spring 2005
First hand experience: what matters to children (Rich, D. Casanova, D. Dixon, A. Drummond, M.J. Durrant, A, Myer, C.)
This book focuses on promoting first hand experiences for children. The book takes the form of an alphabet of real experiences and enquiries underpinned by what matters to children. Each page has been developed as a springboard from which children and educators can launch themselves into the beautiful, mysterious, physical world in which we all live.

The second in the series will be published in spring 2008
Learning: what matters to children (Rich, D. Casanova, D. Drummond, M.J. Durrant, A, Myer, C.)
While building on the elements represented on the alphabet pages of the first book, we have a different purpose. The new book moves on from our concern with the rich curriculum diet that children deserve, to explore more fully what learners do (the central theme). The book takes the form of an alphabet of what learners do.
We aim to help educators who work with young and primary aged children explore the richness of children’s learning.
